Effect of PFAS Mixture on Soybean Root Transcriptome

This study investigated the impact of exposing soybean (Glycine max) to a mixture of 10 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) identified in an irrigation pond. Soybean plants were treated every other day with 50 mL of PFAS solutions at concentrations of 250 ppt and 25,000 ppt for a 150-day period. A control group was treated with water following the same schedule. At the end of the treatment period (Day 150), RNA was extracted from the roots of the treated and control plants. The extracted RNA was subsequently sequenced, and the results are presented here.
