Formation of kuroko-ore by reaction between hydrothermal fluid and cold seawater has been conventionally believed. On the other, some evidences has been recently found suggesting the involvement of microorganisms. Therefore, kuroko-ore cultivation have been carried out at some artificial hydrothermal vents in deep-sea environments, and microbial communities in the cultivation vessel and natural environments have been analyzed.
