First permanent molars frequently present severe conditions in periodontitis cases. Implant restoration is an accepted means of replacing teeth lost due to periodontitis. The present investigation focused on the microbiome analysis of 10 healthy dental implants and 10 chronic periodontitis patients using 454-prosequencing of 16S rDNA. Subgingival plaque and peri-implant biofilm were sampled at the first permanent molar site before and after implant restoration.
