Submission to the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters Inquiry into Civics Education, Engagement and Participation in Australia.

This paper is CYPEP's submission to the Australian Parliament's Joint Standing Committee on Electoral matters (JSCEM) inquiry into civics education, engagement and participation. In our response, we draw on data from the Australian Youth Barometer to demonstrate that young people are neither disengaged nor uninterested in participating in Australia's democracy and political life. However, their participation may manifest in non-traditional ways that reflect their interests and experiences.
