ORG.one project - Bothrops otavioi. A rapid genomic sequencing effort of an endangered snake species from the island Ilha da Vitória (Sao Paulo, Brazil).

Rapid sequencing of the critically endangered Bothrops otavioi species, as part of the ORG.one project http://org.one/oo. This project aim to generate accurate long reads genomic data of the threatened insular species of lancehead from Southeastern Brazil and contribute to a better understanding of its ecology and evolution, and consequently its conservation. The species is known only from the type locality, Vitória Island (Ilhabela Archipelago, Brazil) that has about 220 ha, with a maximum elevation of ca. 200 m above sea level, with the predominant vegetation being Atlantic forest, and inhabited by a small community of fishermen.
