COI-based metagenomics of insect communities in lettuce flower strips

This project surveys insect communities associated with flower strips in lettuce fields in Quebec, Canada, using COI-based metagenomics. Insects were collected using SLAM interception traps, and all specimens were preserved in ethanol prior to extraction. Although the entire insect community is considered, the primary focus is on beneficial insects relevant to conservation biological control. The dataset aims to support the understanding and promotion of natural enemy populations in agroecosystems.
