Trichoderma spp. are important biocontrol filamentous fungi which are widely used for their characteristics of various adaptability, broad anti-microbial spectrum and a variety of antagonistic mechanisms. Its production of spore is closely associated with biocontrol characteristics. In the early studies, we cloned a Thga1 gene encoding GαI protein from Trichoderma harzianum Th-33. Its knockout mutant showed that the conidia yield was least and less two orders of magnitude. The conidiophore branches of the mutant were very sparse, and the secondary branches and phialide were less. Therefore, transcriptome and expression profiling data for the two strains are needed as an important resource to better understand the conidiation process.
