Global multi-resolution forest aboveground biomass reference dataset

This record provides a global multi-resolution forest aboveground biomass (AGB) reference dataset aggregated from field observations and lidar-derived observations. The release contains five CSV files: three benchmark AGB tables at 0.01°, 0.05° and 0.1° spatial resolution, one field source metadata table and one lidar source metadata table. The benchmark records are provided for the reference years 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010 and 2015. Each reference year represents a symmetric 5-year temporal window. Each benchmark record represents a unique combination of grid cell, reference year and source type. Source types distinguish field-only records, lidar-only records and combined records where both field and lidar observations were available for the same grid cell and reference year. The release files are: - benchmark_agb_0p01deg.csv: aggregated AGB benchmark records at 0.01° resolution.- benchmark_agb_0p05deg.csv: aggregated AGB benchmark records at 0.05° resolution.- benchmark_agb_0p1deg.csv: aggregated AGB benchmark records at 0.1° resolution.- Supplementary_Table_S1_field_sources.csv: source-level metadata for field observations.- Supplementary_Table_S2_lidar_sources.csv: source-level metadata for lidar-derived observations.- README_benchmark_agb_release.txt: file descriptions, column definitions and usage notes. The released AGB values are observation-based summaries for sampled forest locations assigned to grid cells. They are not wall-to-wall biomass estimates and should not be interpreted as continuous biomass surfaces.
