Evolutionary Strategies for Environmental Persistence: Adaptations, Exaptations, and Preadaptations in the Entamoeba moshkovskii Proteome

资源简介:
Entamoeba moshkovskii, a morphological twin of Entamoeba histolytica–the human pathogen, exhibits extraordinary environmental resilience, thriving in hyper-eutrophic niches that are lethal to its parasitic relatives. In this study, we employed a multi-level “stability-based proteomic sieve” to elucidate the molecular drivers of this persistence using bioinformatic analysis. By comparing the top stable proteins across inter-genus (Acanthamoeba vs. Entamoeba) and intra-genus (E. moshkovskii vs. E. histolytica/E. dispar vs. E. marina) lineages, we identified a “Resilient 18” toolkit–a specialized set of proteins with extreme structural stability (Instability Index as low as 20).
