Fecal microbiota transplant therapy in type 2 diabetes patients.

Increasing evidence shows that alterations in the normal gut microbiome (GM) contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes (T2D) and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) from a healthy donor can lead to restoration of healthy gut flora for treating various diseases. However, whether FMT therapy can bring any benefits to T2D patients remains unknown. Here we conduct a perspective cohort study to evaluate clinical outcomes in 17 T2D patients following FMT.
