To investigate the genetic elements and the transferability of oxazolidinone resistance genes in five enterococci (three Enterococcus faecalis and two Enterococcus casseliflavus) co-carrying cfr(D) and poxtA2 genes and isolate from a manure of a swine farm in Central Italy.The occurence of the new conjugative plasmid (named pV386), carrying cfr(D)/poxtA2 oxazolidinone resistance genes, in E. faecalis and E. casseliflavus isolates from swine manure is of great concern and highlights the need of control measures to contain its spread to other enterococcal species.
