Annual Atmospheric Δ14C Variation in Eastern China During 1850–1933 CE

In January 2022, 87 cores from 40 trees (Cryptomeria fortunei) were collected from Mount Tianmu (30.34°N, 119.43°E, 1091 m a.s.l.) in Zhejiang Province, eastern China, to develop a well-dated composite tree-ring width chronology. Subsequently, annual rings from 1850 to 1933 CE in tree-ring sample XTM27A1 (hereafter XTM) were selected for radiocarbon analysis. Details of the pretreatment and radiocarbon analysis protocol are described in Lin et al. (2024).This dataset provides Δ14C values for XTM tree-ring samples from 1850 to 1933 CE (Table 1), as well as F14C values for 14C blank wood samples (IAEA-C9 and NF142) and reference wood samples (LWQ1796) used for data quality control (Table 2).
