资源简介:
Many chemistry students struggle with English, even though they need it to read scientific articles, write lab reports, and present their research. This is especially true at technical universities in Uzbekistan, where English is often taught using old-fashioned grammar-translation methods that do not build real communication skills. This study explores how modern teaching approaches can help chemistry students improve their English more effectively. The research was conducted at Chemical-Technological Institute and tested several methods, including Task-Based Language Teaching, Content and Language Integrated Learning, learner-centered instruction, technology-assisted learning, and Communicative Language Teaching. Results showed that learner-centered methods led to significant improvement in students' English abilities compared to traditional approaches. The study concludes that when teachers use active, student-focused methods, chemistry students become more confident and capable English users. These findings offer practical guidance for English teachers working in technical and scientific university settings.
