VPRS 14348 Outward Letter Books

TThis series consists of bound letter volumes containing copies of outwards correspondence from the Maldon Shire Council (VA 2462). Letter books were the means by which copies of correspondence despatched from the office were retained for future reference. Items of correspondence related to a wide range of matters for which the Council was responsible or in which it had an interest. These included the valuation of property, approval of building proposals, provision of community services, engineering, collection of rates, and town planning.Subject-based file numbers may also appear as reference numbers on correspondence. The files these numbers refer to are currently not held by Public Record Office Victoria.
