VPRS 14348 Outward Letter Books

TThis series consists of bound letter volumes containing copies of outwards correspondence from the Maldon Shire Council (VA 2462). Letter books were the means by which copies of correspondence despatched from the office were retained for future reference. Items of correspondence related to a wide range of matters for which the Council was responsible or in which it had an interest. These included the valuation of property, approval of building proposals, provision of community services, engineering, collection of rates, and town planning.Subject-based file numbers may also appear as reference numbers on correspondence. The files these numbers refer to are currently not held by Public Record Office Victoria.本系列档案由装订成册的信函簿构成，内含马尔登郡议会（Maldon Shire Council，档案编号VA 2462）发出的外发信函副本。信函簿是留存办公室发出的信函副本以供日后查阅的载体。所涉信函涵盖该议会负责或关注的各类事务，包括财产估值、建筑方案审批、社区服务供给、工程事务、税费征收以及城镇规划等。信函上亦可出现以主题分类的档案编号作为参考编号，而上述编号所指向的主题档案目前并未被维多利亚公共档案馆（Public Record Office Victoria）收藏。
