PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press device and a press method suitable for pressing a thin plate object such as a paper. SOLUTION: A press device 1 is used for forming irregular parts on a thin plate object by pressing the thin plate object which is configured from at least one of a paper or a wood as a material. The press device comprises a feeding mechanism 3 for feeding the thin plate object forward， and a press part in which a roller body 40 comprising a convexed metal mold 65 and a roller body 43 comprising a concaved metal mold 67 are so supported as to be rotatable in direction opposite to each other and are located at positions sandwiching the thin plate object. The convexed metal mold 65 and the concaved metal mold 67 press the thin plate object while sequentially contacting from a rear side in a feed direction of the thin plate object at such a rotating timing that the convex metal mold 65 and the concaved metal mold 67 are so located as to be opposite to each other during rotation of the rotor body 40 and the rotor body 43.
