The IXI Dataset is a collection of 600 MR brain images from healthy, normal human subjects. The MR image acquisition protocol for each subject includes T1-weighted, T2-weighted, and PD-weighted images, MRA images, and diffusion-weighted images (15 directions). The data was collected across three distinct hospitals in London: Hammersmith Hospital using a Philips 3T MR system (detailed scanner parameters are available), Guy's Hospital using a Philips 1.5T MR system (detailed scanner parameters are available), and the Institute of Psychiatry using a GE 1.5T MR system (detailed scanning parameters are currently unavailable). This dataset was collected as part of the project "IXI – Information Extraction from Images" (EPSRC GR/S21533/02). NIfTI-format images of this dataset are available for download here. This data is made available under the Creative Commons CC BY-SA 3.0 license. If you use the IXI Dataset, please acknowledge the source of the IXI data.
