Bio-electrical methane production with ammonium oxidative reaction under no organic substance condition. bioreactor metagenome

We focused on the bio-electrical methane production from CO2 without organic substance.Methane production on a bio-cathode was investigated in a microbial electrolysis cell coupled with an NH4+ oxidative reaction on an anode coated with platinum powder at a wide range of applied voltage sunder anaerobic conditions. Microbial community analysis revealed that methane production occurred simultaneously with biological denitrification on the bio-cathode.
