资源简介:
The study employed two data collection techniques: the World Café and semi-structured interviews. The World Café is a collaborative conversation method where participants gather in small groups to discuss important issues and build collective knowledge about specific problems. In the context of this study, four World Café meetings were held: two with patients and two with Community Health Workers (CHW). The discussions addressed barriers and facilitators to medication adherence in people with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). A total of 32 patients and 17 CHWs participated in the World Café sessions.
Semi-structured interviews were conducted to delve deeper into the data collected from the World Café with patients who had difficulties adhering to treatment, as reported by the CHWs. A total of 15 patients participated in these interviews , which were conducted by physiotherapy and nursing students during home visits. A specific script was developed for the interviews, covering sociodemographic data and perceptions regarding barriers and facilitators to T2DM medication adherence. Both approaches aimed to understand the perceptions of patients and CHWs regarding the challenges and aids in medication adherence in Iranduba, Amazonas.
