High resolution wind tunnel experiments for high-rise building cladding design

This project has investigated the peak suction events that are relevant to high-rise building cladding design. High-resolution experiments were performed in the Wall of Wind NHERI EF under different atmospheric boundary layer conditions. The measurements have been compared to a previous experiment in a closed-section wind tunnel at the Politecnico di Milano, and they have been used to validate large-eddy simulations in a related numerical project (Quantifying Uncertainties in Computational Fluid Dynamics Predictions for Wind Loads on Buildings).
