The necrotrophic non host specific phytopathogen, Sclerotinia sclerotiorum is the causal agent of Sclerotinia stem rot, which is one of the most serious constraints to canola (Brassica napus L.) production worldwide. In earlier studies, many infection responsive genes in the host plant and the pathogen have been characterized separately. However, the detail molecular mechanisms underlying Sclerotinia infection and canola defense are not yet fully understood. Here, we analyzed the transcriptomes of canola and S. sclerotiorum simultaneously at 24 hpi and 48h hpi under a compatible interaction using the Illumina stranded RNAseq technique.
