Effects of CO2 stress on gene expression in salmon telencephalon

Salmon parr were exposed to increased CO2 levels for a period of time (chronic stress) during the freshwater phase. We conducted sampling at basal levels (i.e. control and CO2 basal or no stress) and after an acute stressor (i.e. control and CO2 stress).We have previously analyzed monoamine neurochemistry and cortisol and found a profile for the CO2 fish that fits what we have before called depression-like state fish and we hypothesize that the RNAseq analysis will show some interesting candidates related to serotonin, cortisol and/or neural plasticity regulation.
