资源简介:
This dataset contains data supporting the publication "Metabolomics in Childhood Asthma – a Promising Tool to Meet Various Clinical Needs". This study was funded by Grant No. 2021/43/O/NZ5/00480 from the National Science Centre, Poland. The aim of this study was to summarize the available literature on metabolomics in childhood asthma and identify metabolites as diagnostic biomarker candidates. Based on the available literature, nine metabolites were identified as having the highest diagnostic potential for distinguishing between children with asthma and healthy controls: adenine, adenosine, benzoic acid, hypoxanthine, p-cresol, taurocholate, threonine, tyrosine, and 1-methyl nicotinamide. Many of the identified metabolites are closely associated with inflammatory processes responsible for asthma. The data include the figures used in the review article: Summary of literature search for reviewed articles; Metabolic pathways and their involvement in childhood asthma pathogenesis based on performed metabolomic studies; Overview illustrating possible clinical utility of metabolomic studies in childhood asthma and all references.
