Janthinobacterium lividum is a violacein-producing bacterium with ecological and applied significance. We present complete genomes of five Austrian J. lividum strains, sequenced using Oxford Nanopore technology. These genomes expand available resources for studying strain-level diversity and traits relevant to host-microbe interactions and secondary metabolite production. Sequencing was performed at the Joint Microbiome Facility of the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Vienna under the project ID JMF-2501-09.
