This research endeavor sought to acquire the perspectives of both experts and patients regarding the attributes associated with adherence to tuberculosis (TB) treatment. A total of 20 specialists in the field of TB and 10 patients diagnosed with pulmonary TB participated in a three-round Delphi study designed to categorize and validate the attributes of the concept in question. The results revealed that adherence to TB treatment pertains to the stage wherein patients with pulmonary TB are capable of adhering to the prescribed treatment recommendations, which encompass behaviors related to medication intake as well as lifestyle modifications, including nutritional care, cessation of smoking, abstaining from alcohol, stress management, enhancement of physical activity, improvement in sleep quality and rest, and engagement in TB-related preventive behaviors. In conclusion, the study's findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the critical significance of adherence to TB treatment. The established consensus priorities underscore that the concept encompasses not merely the act of medication consumption but also highlights the paramount importance of implementing lifestyle changes.
