Monsoon cloud and false ponds prevent a Sentinel-2 record of clean-ice glacier ponds in the western Himalaya
收藏资源简介:
Data, code and results for a negative-result study. We set out to build a 2016-2026 Sentinel-2 record of supraglacial ponds on clean-ice glaciers in the Chandra basin, western Himalaya, and to test whether annual pond area follows melt-season positive degree-days. Each design was fixed in a decision gate frozen with a SHA-256 hash before the data it judged were read. Both gates returned NO-GO: monsoon cloud left too few clear scenes, and on stable ground the method found false ponds at 0.77 of the on-glacier density. Contents: code.zip (unzips to code/); data.zip (unzips to data/); files whose names start with figures_, gates_, results_ or tables_ come from those folders (the prefix is the folder name); README.md and MANIFEST_sha256.txt (SHA-256 of every file, with paths as they appear after unzipping and removing the prefix). Access: the record and this description are public. The data and code files are restricted. Access conditions: Access to the data and code files is on request to the corresponding author, for research and peer-review use. Requests are normally answered within two weeks.
