This dataset provides hierarchical economic and social development data for 5 prefecture-level cities within the Loess Plateau region of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, namely Hohhot, Baotou, Wuhai, Ordos, and Bayannur. The covered indicators include: total land area, number of towns and townships, number of villagers' committees and residents' committees, GDP, total number of households, total population, rural population, natural population growth rate, employed population, number and total output value of industrial enterprises above designated size, total output value of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery and service industries, cultivated land area, crops and their total sown area, total grain output, total output of oil-bearing crops, total vegetable output, total sugar beet output, year-end inventory of large livestock, year-end poultry stock, total meat output, total milk output, total poultry egg output, total power of agricultural machinery, rural electricity consumption, volume of agricultural fertilizer application, total social fixed asset investment, total retail sales of consumer goods, general budget revenue, general budget expenditure, total highway mileage within the administrative jurisdiction, number of enrolled students in regular secondary schools, number of enrolled students in primary schools, number of beds in medical and health institutions, per capita net income of rural residents, and savings deposit balance of urban and rural residents.
