Bacterial iatrogenic side effects are prevalent in orthodontic treatment. Thus, orthodontists should prevent iatrogenic diseases caused by oral bacterial infections, especially dental caries, during orthodontic treatment. To achieve this, the susceptibility of each patient to caries must be determined during the initial consultation. This study aimed to classify pre-orthodontic patients using the Caries Management by Risk Assessment (CAMBRA) system and clarify their oral characteristics and microbiome.
