JYFL-ACCLAB-ISG002 Studies of CUBE-ECRIS performance with slit extraction

Results of an experimental campaign performed with the CUBE-ECRIS ion source focused on studying the use of rectangular slit extraction aperture for ion beam formation and extraction and comparing the resulting performance with the results obtained using a conventional round extraction aperture. The studies include measurements of the extracted ion beam currents and charge state distributions of Ar, Kr and Xe beams, as well as measurements of the beam emittance to determine the quality and other properties of the extracted beams. Beam transport was also studied with He beams. The experimental work was carried out from May to September of 2022.
