资源简介:
A Native American housepit (Feature 57) associated with Mission Santa Clara was
discovered during excavations at the Leavy School of Business on the Santa Clara University in
southern California. Feature 57 is the first Native American house to be identified
archaeologically at Mission Santa Clara. Pollen, phytolith, and macrofloral analyses were
conducted on a single soil sample collected from the housepit floor (Context 168). A floated
light fraction sample also from Context 168 was examined for macrofloral remains. Two
charcoal samples from post-abandonment fill (Context 133) were identified. Botanic analyses
were undertaken to identify plants that were used, stored, and/or processed by the housepit
occupants.
