Antibiotic resistance genes in Enterobacteria isolated from the river as indicators of the impact of urban pollution on plasmid-mediated resistance acquisition.

In this study, we sampled three locations along a contamination gradient of the Virilla River, focusing on isolating Enterobacteriaceae from surface waters. The genomes of 15 isolates (five per site) were sequenced to identify ARGs and plasmids and evaluate their resistance to multiple antibiotics.
