It is built and maintained by [Geoscape Australia](https://geoscape.com.au/) using authoritative government data. Further information about contributors to G-NAF is available [here](https://geoscape.com.au/legal/data-copyright-and-disclaimer/).\r\n\r\nG-NAF is one of the most ubiquitous and powerful spatial datasets. It contains more than 15 million Australian physical address records. The records include geocodes, which are latitude and longitude map coordinates. G-NAF does not contain personal information or details relating to individuals.\r\n\r\nUpdated versions of G-NAF are published on a quarterly basis.\r\n\r\nUsers have the option to download datasets with feature coordinates referencing either GDA94 or GDA2020 datums.\r\n\r\n**Changes in the August 2025 release**\r\n\r\n* Nationally, the August 2025 update of G-NAF shows an overall increase of 40,716 addresses (0.30%). The total number of addresses in G-NAF now stands at 15,794,643 of which 14,950,491 or 94.66% are principal.\r\n\r\n* In the ACT, there have been minor updates to the address parsing of flat-numbered addresses aimed at: improving the address representation of flat-numbered addresses; improving address coverage; and improving address alignment between contributors. This change affects approximately 4,000 addresses.\r\n\r\n* A small number of additional address sites have implemented the use of the BUILDING_NAME attribute as part of the merge criteria to improve address coverage for flat-numbered addresses in NSW and QLD. These changes have resulted in the creation of approximately 400 addresses in NSW and 120 in QLD.\r\n\r\n* A focus has been applied to Tasmanian street-locality addresses to reduce the number of these addresses. The dataset is primarily designed for application developers and large-scale spatial integration. **2025年8月版本更新说明**

* 全国范围内，2025年8月版G-NAF总计新增40716条地址记录，增幅达0.30%。当前G-NAF的地址总数为15794643条，其中主要地址记录14950491条，占比94.66%。
* 澳大利亚首都领地（ACT）对带单元号的地址解析规则进行了小幅优化，旨在提升带单元号地址的表达准确性、覆盖范围及贡献方间的地址对齐一致性，此次变更涉及约4000条地址记录。
* 新南威尔士州（NSW）与昆士兰州（QLD）新增少量地址站点，将建筑名称属性纳入合并标准以提升带单元号地址的覆盖范围，此次变更分别在新南威尔士州新增约400条地址记录、昆士兰州新增约120条地址记录。
* 本次更新重点优化了塔斯马尼亚州的街道区域地址，减少了冗余地址数量，2025年8月版本中塔斯马尼亚州的街道区域地址减少约900条。
* 澳大利亚地理空间局已将产品说明、指南与报告迁移至线上平台https://docs.geoscape.com.au。
