Codes for the LAJCB article “How accurately do consumers report their debts in household surveys?”

These codes help to replicate all the empirical analysis in the article.
Stata is required to run all the codes. The codes were run on a notebook with a processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750H CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 6 Core(s), 12 Logical Processor(s). All files (.do) are in Stata format.

These codes format the datasets for the Chilean Household Finance Survey (EFH) and the Banking Authority registry (SBIF) datasets. It then creates a matched survey-registry data and compares the loan distributions in terms of debt ownership, debt amounts and maturities.
The zip file also includes an online appendix (OnlineAppendix.pdf), with additional tables and figures, which are not in the main article.
