Demography: sex; age (year of birth); citizenship; year of move to Germany; denomination; marital status; cohabitation with a partner; household size; assessment of the financial situation of the household; for the respondent and the partner, the following questions were asked: highest general school leaving certificate; employment status; temporary or permanent employment; year of temporary employment; distance of the home to the place of work in kilometres; means of transport used for the journey to work; activity if not employed.

Additionally coded: ID; serial number.

Both residents of villages and residents of medium-sized centres were surveyed with appropriately adapted questions. Additional codes were used in the data set for medium-sized centres: Area in square kilometres; inhabitants; gender ratio; inhabitants per km; control postcode; error control, municipality; administrative district; district; association municipality; district digit.
