NSF C-130 Meteorology Dropsonde Profiles. Version 1.0

The Aircraft C-130 Meteorology Dropsonde Profiles (NCAR/RAF) dataset is one of several archived by the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research/Joint Office for Science Support (UCAR/JOSS) in support of the Eastern Pacific Investigation of Climate (EPIC) project. The data was collected by the National Center for Atmospheric Research/Atmospheric Technology Division (NCAR/ATD) Research Aviation Facility (RAF). The dataset consists of 0.5 second vertical resolution profiles derived from dropsondes released from the National Science Foundation (NSF)/NCAR C-130 aircraft during EPIC. Dropsondes were released during aircraft flights on the following days: September 2001(3, 5, 7, 14, 16, 19, 23, 25, 28, and 29) and October 2001(2, 6, 9, and 10).
