Total RNAs from WT or herd-1(-) young adult animals were extracted with TRIzol reagent. Subsequently, the total RNAs were treated with RNA 5 Polyphosphatase (Lucigen, RP8092H) to remove 5-di-phosphorylation and then sent to BGI Genomics company for small RNA sequencing. The quality of the cleaned data was assessed using FastQC.
