Analysis of a rapid growing Mycobacterium avium subspecies hominissuis 104 strain

Mycobacterium avium is one of the slow-growing mycobacteria. During repeated sub-culture, we isolated a rapidly growing variant substrain from M. avium subspecies hominiswiss (MAH) 104 strain. That variant strain named as N104 exhibited earlier detection of colonies and increased sliding motility compared to parent MAH 104 strain (P104). To investigate responsible gene mutation brought about phenotype change of N104, whole-genome sequencing analysis was performed between P104 and N104.
