Role of the Aac11/Api5 protein in RNA expression in the Drosophila larvae

Aac11/Api5 is a conserved anti-apoptotic protein that functions through a poorly understood mechanism that appears to involve splicing and transcription. Here we used a HTS approach to identify RNAs that respond to Aac11/Api5 loss in whole 3rd instar larvae. An Aac11/Api5 UAS-RNAi transgene was used to deplete the mRNA and its encoded protein from third instar larvae using the Actin5c-Gal4 driver.
