We operate numerous stations in northern Germany to improve detection capabilities for small magnitude seismic events. Due to generally unfavourable site conditions in the North-German Basin, we initiated in 2013 efforts to reduce average inter-station spacings from 100+ km to currently <50km.
Our backbone network (on larger interstation distances) is based on broadband seismometers (120s corner period) while we started already to also deploy narrower band instruments (20s corner period) to reduce interstation distances.
