Genome assembly and annotation of the nematode Pristionchus exspectatus. Pristionchus exspectatus strain:RS5522B

The nematode Pristionchus exspectatus was isolated in 2010 on stag beetles in Japan. Molecular analyses have placed it as sister species to P. pacificus in the Pristionchus species phylogeny. While P. pacificus is a hermaphroditic nematode, P. exspectatus is an obligatory outcrossing species. The two species form an interesting model to study the switch between the different modes of reproduction and to analyze nematode genome evolution at relatively short time periods. For genome sequencing, multiple genomic libraries with insert sizes spanning from 400bp to 5kb were sequenced on the Illumina platform resulting.
