microflora of the East European vole (Microtus levis)

East European vole (Microtus levis) is a herbivorous small mammal. The vole is hindgut fermenters, thefore has a voluminous cecum. Interestingly, the vole also has a compartmentalized stomach in addition to a large cecum. In this project, we try to reveal the role of the forestomach of voles.
