Environics International Environmental Monitor, 1997

Environics International Environmental Monitors (EIEM) is a syndicated annual survey of global public opinion on a variety of environmental and natural resource issues. It is based on public opinion surveys carried out in 24+ countries around the world, and conducted since 1997. The findings of the 1997 Survey are based on the results of face-to face or telephone interviews with representative samples of about 1,000 citizens, in each of 24 countries on all continents, representing over 60 percent of the world's population. Environics 1997 International Environmental Monitor survey was conducted in the following countries: Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Finland, France, Germany, Great-Britain, Hungary, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Peru, Poland, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, United States. Research was conducted by respected social research institutes in each country between December 9, 1996 and April 30, 1997. In Canada, the survey was conducted by Environics Research Group Ltd. It consisted of a nation-wide telephone survey with a sample of 1,530 individuals, 18 years and older carried out between January 28 and February 12, 1997.
