Property Maintenance Investigations

Description Property Maintenance Investigations are proactive code enforcement activities conducted by inspection units within the City of Cleveland's Department of Building & Housing. These investigations are commonly referred to as systematic code enforcement and focus on targeted geographic areas identified through data analysis, community concerns, or internal initiatives. Several inspection units conduct these investigations, including the Rental Inspection Unit, which focuses on rental housing compliance; the Main Street Inspection Unit, which focuses on commercial corridors and business districts and the Systematic Inspeciton Unit, which selects specific neighborhoods or areas for broader property maintenance reviews. These efforts are intended to identify and address property maintenance violations and promote safe, well-maintained residential and commercial environments.
