China (2006): HIV/AIDS TRaC Study among Injecting Drug Users in Kaiyuan City, Kunming City, and Yingjiang Town, Yunnan Province. Second Round.

Tracking surveys serve as tools to inform programming by routinely collecting data from a cross-section of populations at risk for HIV/AIDS and other adverse health outcomes. PSI/China has provided programs for injecting drug users (IDUs) including peer education, drop-in-centers, and other activities based on a previous PSI survey among IDUs in 2004. In order to monitor the progress of the programs and to improve them in the next few years, this survey among IDUs aims to: 1) gain an understanding of knowledge, attitudes and risk behavior regarding HIV/AIDS, sexual practices and needle/syringe (N/S) sharing among IDUs; 2) identify factors to increase IDUs opportunity, ability and motivation (OAM) to adopt risk reducing behavior, namely decrease N/S sharing and increase consistent condom use; 3) monitor changes in behavior over time, and monitor IDUs exposure to PSIs intervention programs; 4) evaluate the programs provided by PSI/China for IDUs. Probability proportional to size sampling method was used to collect data among 547 IDUs in Kaiyuan, Yingjiang and Kunming compulsory detox centers. The study questionnaire collected data on IDUs opportunity, ability and motivation (OAM) for consistent condom use with sexual partners and N/S sharing.追踪调查是一类为项目规划提供信息支撑的工具，通过常规性收集HIV/AIDS及其他不良健康结局高风险人群的横断面数据，为项目制定提供科学依据。 中国国际人口服务组织（PSI/China）曾于2004年针对注射吸毒者（IDUs）开展专项调查，并基于该调查结果为注射吸毒者推出了同伴教育、临时服务点（drop-in-centers）及其他相关干预活动。 为监测上述项目的实施进度并于未来数年优化项目质量，本次针对注射吸毒者的调查设定以下目标：1）掌握注射吸毒者对HIV/AIDS的认知、态度及相关风险行为，包括性行为与针具/注射器（N/S）共用情况；2）识别可提升注射吸毒者采取风险降低行为的机会、能力与动机（OAM）的相关因素，具体为减少针具/注射器共用行为与坚持全程安全套使用行为；3）追踪随时间推移的行为变化情况，并监测注射吸毒者对PSI/China干预项目的参与情况；4）评估PSI/China为注射吸毒者提供的相关项目效果。 本次调查采用按规模大小成比例的概率抽样法（Probability proportional to size sampling method），在开远、盈江及昆明的强制戒毒所共收集了547名注射吸毒者的相关数据。 本次调查所用问卷收集了注射吸毒者与性伴侣坚持全程安全套使用以及针具/注射器共用相关的机会、能力与动机（OAM）相关数据。
