Large dimensional bulk nanocrystalline Fe-Al-Cr alloy with 10 wt.% Cr were produced by self-propagating combustion synthesis. The effect of load on the friction and wear properties of alloys was researched by M-2000 wear tester and the worn surface was analysed by SEM. The results show that with the increase of the loads, the friction coefficient generally decreases. The wear rate decreases at first and then increases, and the friction coefficient and the wear rate reached the lowest level when the load was 140 N. With the increase of the load, the worn mechanism of the nanocrystalline Fe-Al-Cr alloy transformed from the abrasive wear and delamination wear to the adhesive wear and abrasive wear. The stable and compact third body formed at the load of 140N received the best wear resistance and antifriction.
