资源简介:
According to the World Health Organization, the problem of antibacterial resistance is a threat to the achievements of modern medicine; the antibiotics resistance, especially those used as “last resort”, has reached alarming levels; five of the six WHO regions reported antibiotic resistance above 50%. In the Americas region, up to 90% of infections with Staphylococcus aureus are resistant to methicillin (methicillin-resistant S. aureus, MRSA) which causes failure of the usual antibiotic treatment. People infected with these strains have a 64% more likely to die than those infected by susceptible strains. MRSA infections were confined to hospital environments. However, recent studies show their occurrence in the community (CA-MRSA). Recently, we recovered MRSA strains from healthy children in child care centers. These strains represent a risk of emergence of difficult treatment infections for carrier children. The objective of the work is to study the S. aureus multiirresistance phenotype from a genomic perspective.
