This dataset contains 4 separate shapefiles that depict wind farms in Great Britain in 2011. The 4 categories are Operational, Constructed, Consented and Proposed. Operational sites also include the power in MegaWatts. The data is current as of 2011. The positional accuracy of the data is not exact. Sites are represented as points but in reality will occupy an area. Any feedback on errors and new schemes gratefully received. For up-to-date information, please refer to the http://www.renewableuk.com/ website. Data sourced from http://www.bwea.com/ and manipulated in a GIS to show points in OSGB coordinates. GIS vector data. This dataset was first accessioned in the EDINA ShareGeo Open repository on 2011-10-12 and migrated to Edinburgh DataShare on 2017-02-22.
