The goal of this study is to examine long-term changes in microbial communities at both the organismal and community levels in three well studied freshwater lakes in Wisconsin: Lake Mendota, Crystal Bog Lake, and Trout Bog Lake as a part of the North Temperate Lakes Long-Term Ecological Research (NTL-LTER).
