Effects of sea spray generated with tropical cyclone winds with and without surfactants
The dataset contains measurements from laboratory experiments conducted at the University of Miami Air-Sea Interaction Facility and numerical measurements from computational fluid dynamics model runs in ANSYS Fluent of sea spray generation under tropical cyclone winds with and without surfactants present. Measurements were taken under category 1 tropical cyclone conditions in the laboratory, and category 1, 3, and 5 tropical cyclone conditions in the model. The case and data files for each trial of the Fluent model are also included. This dataset supports the publication- Vanderplow, Breanna, Alexander V. Soloviev, Cayla W. Dean, Brian K. Haus, Roger Lukas, Muhammad Sami, and Isaac Ginis. 2020. Potential effect of bio-surfactants on sea spray generation in tropical cyclone conditions. Scientific Reports 10(1), 19057. DOI: 0.1038/s41598-020-76226-8
