资源简介:
Regulating services of Mangroves saves millions of lives from tsunamis and cyclones throughout the world. Not only humans several thousands of trees were saved by the mangrove forests lining the coastal belts of tropical countries. These countries enjoyed and continue to benefit from the mangroves at the same time, allowed degradation through land clearing, lumbering, over harvesting, cattle grazing, urbanization and tourism. Researchers confirmed that the mangrove forests can sequester the carbon 50 times more than the tropical forests. Global warming enabled mangroves to migrate towards the cooler regions of the Northern and Southern hemispheres makes the original habitat of mangroves a misery. The coastal belts suffer due to climatic aberrations and led to economic loss and environment degradation combined with loss of lives. Since there is no other alternate method equivalent to the natural regulating services of mangroves, its high time to rehabilitate degraded mangrove forests and focus the need for the local community and global understanding.
